GROWTH AND HEALING THROUGH REFLECTIONS
Wow, can you believe it? May has already gotten a head start on me. Where in the world does time go? And so quickly it does. As I realized this, I became aware that it is time to slow down and smell the roses. We so hurriedly rush through our days and even our entire lives without recognizing the most valuable and most important gifts we often overlooked because of their simplicity to us. Even though their significance is one of grandeur. We often take for granted the very breath we breathe until we watch a loved one take their last, then it hits home. Such a fine line between breaths.
Through the years as a nurse, I have watched people take one of the most precious gifts (Jesus being the first) that we have been given and throw it away while others fight so hard, through grief, disease, and sicknesses, to live. A concept that I cannot quite understand. I love living and sharing the goodness of God.
As I retrace my own life there were so many times I could have done better and still to this day could do better. I believe it all begins with our thought life and our attitudes. Yes, we are all humans, and we can choose to let our thoughts be influenced by the wrong things and even the wrong people. Sometimes intentionally and other times unknowingly often consequences of living in a fallen world. But it is all a choice. A choice that we make and control ourselves most often.
May is seen as a month of growth and renewal. Now that April has brought us spring with things beginning to come alive. May is here to flourish its growth and renew the old. This is true in our lives. This is a month to begin looking at circumstances, and expectations through a brighter renewed focus.
You may say to me that it is easy for you to say, but my world is full of darkness and heartbreak, and bitterness.
“My heart is broken, my husband left me for another woman and I’m all alone.”
“My husband is very abusive.”
“My child is sick.”
“I’ve bills I can’t pay.”
“I’ve lost my son.”
And the list goes on and on. And yes, it is all overwhelming if you let it be. But I am here to tell you that you are not alone and that as a survivor of these things and much, much, more there is always God’s grace. All he asks is that we TRUST HIM.
These are the times we are encouraged to look through spiritual eyes and embrace God’s grace and beauty all around us. If your husband left you then it’s his lost, God has something so much greater. If you husband is abusive, God will make a way out for you because that is not where you belong. If you are dealing with sickness in your family God is our healer. He is our provider and he will take care of you. God has a greater plan. It is, however, your choice. God is a patient, loving God that wants only the best for his children.
Now is a good time to cultivate and develop a new foundation of gratitude for His promises. Try to look at the positive side, the blessings that surround you daily. We all have struggles, believe me I don’t take that lightly, but I know someone that is greater than anything we face on this earth, his name is Jesus Christ.
I always say there are blessings in every situation, sometimes we must look a little harder to find them, but they are there.
So, let’s take the whole month of May and slow down, reflect upon the positive things and the blessings, and just how blessed we really are. Let’s ponder upon God’s goodness, grace, his mercies and His boundless love for us. Let’s TRUST HIM.
Do you ever wonder WHY he loves us so much? We, none of us, deserve it, but it’s because of who he is!
Let me assure you, you are not alone. This is a community where we can share and lift each other up. No judgement, no condemnation. Just love and understanding from one woman to the others because we have all been there at some point. And if you haven’t you may want to join us anyway because I can promise you will definitely be there to some degree.
This is my prayer on Mother’s Day
“Oh Father, help me to comfort my sisters, with caring and loving words that reflect the love of Jesus. On this Mother’s Day, many hearts, as well as my own, are broken into a million pieces because of the loss of a child.
But I’m so grateful, God, that I can see beyond the broken heart of this human into the heart of the one who truly loves me and to be able to lean upon your wonderful promises. I know that my son, my baby boy, is with you. Of that I am certain. And that is one of my greatest blessings as a Mom I could ever ask for. Yes, I miss him so much, but I am so blessed that I have confirmation that he is with the greatest Father he could ever have and to have had the time I had with him. So grateful for the memories I treasure, what a gift they are.
And Lord thank you for my older son and the work that you have done in his life. He is such a blessing to me. I am so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful family who serves the Lord.
Bless all the Mother’s on this Day I pray, Lord. Help them to open their eyes to see the blessings and the goodness of God in their circumstances. I lift them all up to you Jesus.
I speak Jesus over all the Mother’s’ today, for there is Power, there is healing, there is strength and there are peace and comfort in the Name, …..Jesus
Lighting the path of faith together, One story at a time.
With Love,
Rebamac
