Can you believe it ladies, here we are well into the month of June. This month is often seen as a midpoint marker of a year half gone. A time of personal growth and new beginnings. A time of transition and abundance associated with joy, vitality, and maturity. A time to quietly sit and reflect and then move forward.
As I sat reflecting back on the months that have come and gone, I was listing a few of the many blessings that God has bestowed upon me. I realized that there are far too many and not enough time to list them all. What an awesome God I serve. How grateful I am that He has allowed me to share his goodness with others.
I was reading a few of the reviews from my book “Final Curtain Call” and I came across one that read “Not a book I would pass on due to graphic details”. I sat and thought about that statement several times after reading it. And I am grateful for every review, please don’t get me wrong. I realize not every book is for everyone.
It was and is my prayer that “Final Curtain Call” will bless and help other women and men that are in abusive situations to know that God is a God who sees. They are not alone.
Yes, there are raw and not so pretty scenes in the book, but the fact is that life is often raw and ugly, maybe not for everyone but the fact is probably for more people than not. If you are one who cannot relate to the raw and ugly then consider yourself blessed beyond.
“Final Curtain Call” reflects true cold hard facts of a life that was rescued by God for his glory. The fact of the matter is that so many times family members and friends are unaware of what others are experiencing and enduring in situations of abuse.
I wonder if there was someone that this reader may have or could have shared the book with so that their lives could have been changed. As a survivor of domestic abuse for many years, I know what it would have meant to know there was someone else who understood, because at that time I felt there was not.
A well to do lady told me,
“No one will believe your book is true, Your book must be believable to sale. Well, my friend, not everyone has lived the story book prince life free of pain and fear.
“Final Curtain Call” is indeed a real-life experience, every fact, every scene is a true depiction of a life lived out with Gods help. How do I know that it’s all true, because it’s my life. Only God could have saved Sandra Gail and her children and brought them through. But He did! FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS.
This book was written and shared even in the raw and ugly with a prayer of helping others in similar circumstances. So, when we look at being judgmental it is my prayer that maybe we could look through a true Christian perspective and see God in the mix.
Often women and men in abusive situations withhold from sharing and getting help for these very reasons, That they will be judged, blamed, criticized, not believed, and the list goes on, especially by those who are supposed to love them and supposed to be true Christians.
Maybe the reviewer did not read to the end of the book to see how God restored Sandra Gail and blessed her a hundred-fold in the end, giving her back double for her trouble and molding her into a living testimony of Gods’ goodness. God is a God who sees, He knows the ending from the beginning.
It is my prayer that we all will not rush to a conclusion of judgment, but to stand up strong and be all God created us to be by helping each other and building each other up.
To be there for others, to let them know that they call upon us for help and to share with them the one true answer to all their needs —— Jesus.
Lighting the path of faith together one story at a time.
With Love,
REBAMAC
