Well, Hello My Friends,
Thanks for dropping in. No, I did not forget the month of August, it was kind of a rough month for me. A teaching month as I reflect upon it. So, Please, this is not a whining or complaining post, so just hang with me.
My Yorkie, My baby of 10 years, Pattimac went to be with Jesus. I received Pattimac when she was five years of age as a gift from God, so she was 15 years of age now. But she is a very important part of my life and shared such an unconditional love for me. I don’t believe I have ever been so loved, except for the love of Jesus. So, to say my heart is once again broken is an understatement. And yes, to me it was like losing a family member. She went everywhere I went and oh my the excitement she showed when I came through the door from work was always the highlight of my day. She is now happy with My Mac, Matthew, and Jesus. I am so blessed to have had her for the many years I did, I miss her so very much.
And then there was a professional situation where I thought I had a friendship relationship as well, but not so much. I was so disappointed in promises made a year ago and still had not come to fruition. I really did not understand the procrastination at all. Anyway, in the end I was told to just Wait. Man, I had been waiting, a year right.
I have always been a person of my word to the best of my ability. My Dad taught me that was one of the most important traits of one’s character. If you can’t depend on someone’s word, then you need to move on.
Then I waited for over two months for a professional to come to do a job he committed to doing. I really liked this young man who had a family and was working hard to support them. So, I felt like I should give him a chance to come. But after waiting and with no return phone calls I decided to move on with the project I needed done.
The month of August represents growth, warmth, fullness and transition. Words like abundance, maturity, harvest, are used in relation to the month of August.
I’ve said all this to say, sometimes things in our lives are just beyond our understanding. But we are to remain faithful to a God that is all knowing. After all these things occurred, I was given a message of why sometimes God has us to WAIT.
If you seem to be in a Waiting place in your life you are not alone. (Always remember you are not alone.) If you look at scripture you will find that some of God’s greatest servants endured periods of waiting, often years of waiting.
Israel waited 40 years to enter the promised land, Jesus waited 30 years before beginning His ministry, David waited 15 years to become King after being anointed for the job. And Sarah waited 25 years for a promised son. So, if you’re in a waiting period you are among some of the greatest.
What I came to realize is that there are blessings in the waiting. God is preparing us, teaching us, equipping us for what He has prepared for us. WOW, read that again.
If you are in the dark room of waiting that is where the development happens. We as Christians sometimes rely upon the three W’s ; Wonder, Worry, and Whining. Yep, me too. Instead of relying on the One whom we should put our trust in, Jesus. You see if the dark room is interrupted in any way and the exposure happens before completion then the image is ruined and everything thus far is lost and will not develop as planned. I feel that often we as humans interfere greatly with our own development and that the adversary often takes great advantage of the situation by sending sheep in wolves’ clothing to help derail us.
However, there is always hope for the Bible says God will take what satan means for evil and turn it for our good. So many times, I have seen this in my own life. I love it when God continues to bless me with learning messages to help me better walk out His Will.
Is there anyone out there that can relate? As we begin September let’s reflect with maturity and take what we’ve learned from August, releasing the failures and betrayals and decide to carry forth with gratitude of the blessings ahead and the ones we have discovered in the waiting. Just as the leaves begin to fall and the branches release the dead growth from last year, we must let go of fallen dead things (situations) and begin afresh.
Always remember with every changing season there are new beginnings. And with every ending a new beginning is to follow.
